Usage of Registry Cleaner
Registry Scan & Clean
The Windows registry is a database repository
for information about a computer's configuration. The registry keep growing when
you use Windows. As it does so, it attracts obsolete and unnecessary
information, and gradually becomes cluttered and fragmented. With the growing of
the registry, it can degrade the performance of the whole system and cause many
weird software problems. Use this product regularly to make the registry error
free and boost your system performance!
Scanning: To start the registry
scanning, click the "Check For Problems" button. After the scanning is done, you
can click the view details link to view the detailed information for each
registry problem the product found.
Reviewing the found problems: You can
click the View Details link to view the detailed information of each problem. If
you don't want to fix a specific problem, just clear the checkbox before it and
then that item won't be fixed. (By default, the program fix all problems it
finds)
Fixing: Click "Fix selected problems" to
fix the problems found in the scanning process. (If you have cleared an item,
then that item won't been fixed)
Registry
Backup/Restore
Most of the Windows internal configuration
information is stored in the Registry. It is critical to have up-to-date,
reliable backups of this information. You can backup/restore your Windows
Registry here.
To do backup, click the Registry Backup button
and you will be prompted to choose a file to store the backup. After that, the
tool will backup your whole Windows Registry and store them in a single cab file
you selected.
To restore the Windows Registry from an earlier
backup by this program, click the Registry Restore button inside the program and
select the cab file. You will be prompted to restart your Windows after the
restore is about to be completed. Please restart the system upon request to
complete the restore.
Registry Defrag
and Registry Compact
During the normal operation of a Windows
system, registry data is constantly being written to and removed from the
registry. Over time this data becomes scattered within the registry file and
when information is deleted from the registry holes are left which fragment
the data within the registry. Registry compacting optimizes your registry by
removing gaps and wasted space, thus improves the whole system performance.
Startup
Organizer
There are many programs which will be
automatically started when you start Windows. After your system has been used
for years and you have many application installed, you will feel your Windows
starts slower and slower. Part of the reason is that there are too many
programs which will be started up automatically. Among them, some programs are
no use at all and you will never need it. Further more, some Spyware/Adware
and Trojan also put themselves in the startup list. It's a good habit to keep
the startup items minimal and only start program which is really necessary.
Startup organizer view displays all programs
which will be started when Windows starts up. By selecting the item in the list,
you can view the detailed information about the item in the bottom pane. If you
don't need a specific one during startup, just clear the checkbox before the
item to disable it.
Internet Explorer BHO Organizer
A BHO is an add-in program for Internet
Explorer. Some BHOs are legitimate and add some cool functions to IE, but there
are also some BHOs which are adware or spyware (They do things like monitor the
websites you visit and report this data back to their creators) The following
list displays all Browser Helper Object (BHO) which will be loaded when you use
Internet Explorer (IE). If you don't want a specific one, just clear the
checkbox before the item to disable it.
Tip:
The safety column in BHO organizer will mark
whether the specific BHO is safe based on our internal list. If a BHO is a known
Spyware, Adware or Trojan in our database, we will mark it as dangerous in the
safety column and it is strongly suggest you to uncheck that item in BHO
organizer to disable it. There are 3 state for the safety column: Safe,
Dangerous, Unknown. Safe means it is safe to use it and it is not Spyware/Adware
or Trojan based on our database. Dangerous means that BHO is known
Spyware/Adware or Trojan. Unknown means that BHO is not in our database yet.
